Denise Ortiz: Vocals, Percussion and " a little suttin"
Deborah Simmons : Keys and Vocals
Deb Piccolo: Drums and Vocals
Anthony Rokosa on Bass and
Vange Durst: Guitar/ Vocals
D-Vine is the bastard daughter of Swivel Hips screwing around with Sisterfunk and producing a Superlove chile. Deb and Deborah are ex members of Swivel Hips, Vange is an ex of Sisterfunk and Denise is post Superlove. While the bands name was founded on the fact each member has a "D" in their name - they broke that rule to let Ant play bass. The sound is some funky ass groovin with whatever kinda thang.......Check it out. It's some fun shit!

I've been playing drums since the age of 9. My "illustrious" musical journey began in a band called “The Reign” from 1990-93. I then formed pop/rock/funk band “Swivel Hips” in 1997 and enjoyed performing with that project for 6 yrs. I’ve played and recorded with various local projects and artists around Connecticut over the past 17 yrs. Currently, I enjoy performing with eclectic rock band EV3 and funk/rock band D-VINE!

It all started in grammar school when I was forced to wear funny outfits and sing showtunes. When I was old enough to rebel, it was rock 'n roll for me! From Zeppelin & Janis to the Clash & Guns 'n Roses. It was clear I had a lil' anger and frustration to resolve...but who doesn't in adolescence?!? I grew up with lots of soul music in the house so it was inevitable that I would grow to admire and aspire to the likes of Aretha and Tina. Two women who convey their prescence on stage with power and conviction. I wanted some of that! Of course mami and papi were playing salsa and merengue at the weekend parties so it was only natural for me to get my swirv on and embrace my Latin roots. So today....I'm Rock 'n Soul with a dash o' hot sauce. I am blessed and honored to be rockin’ out with these truly D-Vine musicians.

My mother said that at the age of 4, " I would stand before the speakers of the record player conducting with my air baton". With my current gig, the speakers have become instrumentalist and vocalist performing classical, jazz and gospel. I have had the great good fortune to have a job in which I can create it, direct it and play it-that is MUSIC. Life is good!"
(I have a feeling that there's a lot more to Debra!... let's ask her to find out?)

I really enjoy playing with D-Vine. This is more a project where I come in and just do my "thang". This band was formed by ex- Swivel Hip members Deb Piccolo and Deborah Simmons and Denise Ortiz from Superlove. The music is a mix of rock and R&B covers and some cool originals too. Denise is a great singer and funny as hell so it's a lot of fun to work with her. Deborah is one of the most amazing musicians I have ever met and she never complains when I ask her for chords to a song for the umpteenth time! Deb is one of the best drummers I have ever played with and she's super cool, funny and a great friend . Last year we added Anthony (Ant) Rikosa on Bass and he is very talented, way cute, funny and sings too! D-Vine is hoping to get into the studio in the fall of 2008 to record some original tunes. Stay tuned for that!

Anthony Rokosa: Anthony has been involved in music in some way shape or form since grade school. Starting off as a trumpet player with a strong background in jazz at Bloomfield High School, Anthony switched to the bass guitar in 2003 while deployed with the CT Army National Guard to Afghanistan. He has since cut his chops on the local live music scene as the bassist for GIRTH until October 2006 and since February 2007 as the bassist of the group D-Vine. His musical tastes include classic and modern rock, funk, soul, and R&B. Some of his influences include Geddy Lee, Sting, and Flea. Although relatively new to the bass and self-taught, Anthony has become known for his "in the pocket" bass lines, tasty fills, and solid low end grooves that keep the crowd moving.
